Frequently asked questions

Is there parking available at the Klanghaus?

There are no parking spaces available directly at the Klanghaus. For loading and unloading deliveries or if arriving by coach, vehicles can be parked briefly in front of the main entrance.

Is the Klangschmiede accessible for people with disabilities?

Our building is a traditional old Toggenburg house, which unfortunately is not fully accessible due to its construction. The staircase is narrow, making access to the upper floors difficult. However, the smithy on the ground floor is wheelchair accessible. Please note that there are no wheelchair-accessible toilets.

How long does the hike along the Sound Trail take?

Leg Sellamatt–Iltios: 1.5 hours

Leg Iltios–Oberdorf: 3.5 hours

Schwendiseen loop: 1 hour

The entire Klangweg trail takes approximately 5 hours at an easy pace.

How much does the sound trail cost?

The hike along the Sound Trail is free of charge.

With the Sound Trail ticket from the mountain railways, you can purchase tickets for the ascent and descent as well as the bus in the valley back to your starting point. The current fares are published under Sound Trail ticket or on the mountain railway websites:

Toggenburg Bergbahnen (for a start in Alt St. Johann or Unterwasser)
Bergbahnen Wildhaus (for a start in Wildhaus)

How difficult is the Sound Trail?

The difficulty level can be classified as easy. The Sound Trail can be walked in stages between the individual stations of the mountain railways.
