Sound Trail Toggenburg

The sound hike of Switzerland

The Klangweg (or sound trail) is the flagship of the Klangwelt Toggenburg and a success story that is known far beyond the borders of Switzerland.

The sound trail stretches from Alp Sellamatt via Iltios to Oberdorf and can be reached by mountain railway from Wildhaus and Alt St. Johann.

Over the past twenty years, the sound trail has attracted up to 50,000 people a year - including families, nature lovers and music and art enthusiasts. After twenty years, the sound trail was extensively renovated and reopened in May 2024. The most important works on the trail have been carefully restored and there are over fifteen new works of sound art to discover.

The sound trail is open from the end of May to the end of October and is enriched by barbecue areas, mountain restaurants and playgrounds along the way.
