How long does it take for a message to reach outer space? What does an earthquake sound like? What do planets sound like? How do water or sand react to sounds and frequencies? Without air, there is no sound. You can find answers to these questions in the experiment room and the outer space room. What does Pythagoras have to do with sound? Pythagoras experimented with string lengths and pitches in ancient times. The result of this is revealed in the ‘Stöbli’. Which bird chirps so loudly? What does a rockfall sound like? Information about this can be found in yet another room. Sea snail, tam-tam, kalimba, neck zither, musical bow, monochord and didgeridoo. All of these are sound objects and instruments. These sound objects can be heard in the overtone room. A sound quiz tests what you have seen, heard and learned.
