State of Development

The Klangcampus project was launched in April 2020. Construction of the Klanghaus was completed in autumn 2024. With the handover of the keys to the Klangwelt Toggenburg Foundation in December, on-site preparations began for the grand opening in May 2025. A good year earlier in May 2024, the Klangweg was reopened. Existing works were renovated and additional sound installations by national and international artists were added. In summer 2024, Toggenburg Bergbahnen (TBB) redesigned the Unterwasser valley station, creating a modern station with a café-bar and a renovated funicular railway to Iltios, combining arrival, relaxation and onward travel. Together with the comfortable chairlift operated by Bergbahnen Wildhaus, this provides easy access to the Klangweg in the heart of the breathtaking Toggenburg countryside. With the comprehensive renovation of the Jennyhaus by the citizen municipality of St. Gallen, the modernisation of group accommodation and the refurbishment of rooms in Stump's Alpenrose, concrete steps have been initiated and implemented to significantly improve the accommodation situation for guests.

The current focus is on creating a venue for encounters and experiences with the Peter Roth Resonance Centre, which will enable visitors to Schwendi to enjoy their first experiences with sound and resonance. It will serve as a hub for tourist and cultural activities.
